The Progress Center is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our In-Home Supports Team! We have full and part time positions available!Direct Support Professionals (DSP) working on our In-Home Supports team provide person-centered services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities within their personal homes and residences.
In-Home DSPs serve as community integrators for people within their care.
In this role, you will help guide and encourage individuals in determining their personal interests, preferences, and goals while also fostering opportunities for natural and meaningful relationships with other community members.
Schedules are a combination of days, evenings, and weekends.

Previous experience is not required!Job Duties:
Provide support to people served to gain independence and participate fully in their community (and plan meaningful calendars with your individuals to provide opportunities for growth and community involvement).
Implement person centered plans and care plans as determined by the team.
Support inclusion through participation in community integrated activities, services, and events.
Assist in personal care as needed.
Follow recommendation for consumers from professional evaluations.
Fulfill all training requirements.
Attend agency meetings as directed by your supervisor.
Document and maintain all consumer records and services (including daily Therap documentation and attendance, filing of incident reports in a timely manner, and submitting mileage sheets as required by the Transportation Dept.
and to follow Case Management Guidelines in pre-planning for PCP preparations).
Comply with all federal, state and local regulations while supporting persons with mental or physical disabilities or autism, including human rights and mandatory reporting.
Advocate on consumers' behalf at annual and six-month review meetings (if you are invited by the consumer or your Supervisor to attend these meetings).

This position requires the ability to function comfortably both independently and in a team in environment, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with others at all levels.
Exceptional organization, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Attention to detail is imperative for the success of this position.
Proficiency with electronic software (Microsoft Office Suite) and electronic health records.
Strong writing, typing and organizational skills are necessary.
Strong interpersonal skills, and a professional presentation are required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; repetitively use hands to finger, handle, or feel, including operation of a standard computer keyboard; reach with hands and arms and talk, see and hear; and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
